Southeast Asian Short Film Competition
The Southeast Asian Short Film Competition highlights the best short cinematic gems from the region. This year’s selection presents 25 films across five programmes.
Singapore Panorama
With its unwavering focus on local cinema, Singapore Panorama presents a selection of the latest feature and short films from both emerging and established Singapore filmmakers.
Standpoint
The personal and the sociopolitical are intertwined in profoundly compelling ways. The nine films in this section plunge headfirst into today’s most hotly debated issues alongside stories of deeply personal struggles.
Undercurrent
Tracing uncharted territories in cinema, Undercurrent taps into the audacious innovations of experimental filmmaking today and invites you to explore the art form’s limitless possibilities with 13 moving image works.
Horizon
Horizon offers a bird’s-eye view of world cinema today, showcasing 16 diverse filmic discoveries and celebrated works from the international film festival circuit, each expanding our horizons a little further.
Foreground
The world of film genres—their rules, quirks and timeless tropes—occupy Foreground, which celebrates the essence and significance of popular cinema through these 12 films.
Landmark
Co-presented with the Asian Film Archive, Landmark showcases recent restorations of international classics, with a special showcase of Indian-born Canadian filmmaker Deepa Mehta’s films this year.

36th Singapore International Film Festival Champions Local Voices Amid a Transforming Cultural Landscape
Deepening its commitment to local storytelling, SGIFF 2025 will present more than 30 feature and short films by Singaporean filmmakers and co-productions. Notably, the festival has doubled its local short film selection compared to last year, showcasing a total of 28 works across the Southeast Asian Short Film Competition and Singapore Panorama, a section dedicated to presenting the latest Singaporean feature and short films that speak to evolving societal concerns.
Empowering Southeast Asian Voices: Singapore International Film Festival Awards S$125,000 to Documentary and Short Film Projects
SGIFF is proud to announce the recipients of the SGIFF Film Fund 2025. This year, a total of S$125,000 will be awarded to seven exceptional projects—comprising feature-length documentaries and short films in production and post-production—from Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and the Philippines.
